Working with severe trauma: A systemic long-term perspective on spirals of loss and spirals of growth
Luennoitsija psykologian professori Yoel Elizur, PhD työskentelee Jerusalemin yliopistossa (Hebrew University of Jerusalem), Clinical Child & Educational Psychology laitoksella. Hän on aikaisemminkin luennoinut samoista teemoista sekä Helsingissä että Turussa.
Seminaarin sisältö
The seminar will apply a systems-integrative approach to the duality of being and coping with trauma. The emphasis is on the different roles of the therapist and how they need to change throughout the different phases of treatment in a way that is sensitive to the needs of the survivor, especially children and families.
The phases are demonstrated with a video-tape that documents the long term process of working through traumatic experiences as told by survivors of acts of terror, twenty years later. The focus will be on both intrapsychic and interpersonal experiences, with an appreciation for the different ways that people react and cope with their traumatic experiences. The presentation of the Israeli experience will give a perspective on cultural factors in traumatic and post-traumatic disorders.
Participants’ will be invited to share from their professional and personal experience and to consult about cases. Such sharing and consultations will be used to demonstrate principles of work and to highlight crucial points of intervention.

Seminaari on maksuton erikoistuville lääkäreille ja eräiden psykoterapiakoulutusryhmien koulutettaville.
